About this Experience
Custom Winter Wildlife Tours. Join us for a unique winter wildlife tour in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Grand Teton National Park! Teton Wild can create a specialized, custom tour that meets every need of your group. Your party will be treated to a friendly, relaxing and informative wildlife tour. As we travel through this amazing valley together, you will have many opportunities to take spectacular photographs from the National Elk Refuge in Jackson — all the way up to Colter Bay Village in Grand Teton National Park. Please note: We do not conduct any tours in Yellowstone National Park in the winter season. Did you know? The Grand Teton mountain range is one of the youngest in the world, with fascinating geological details including glaciers, moraine lakes and formations left from the last ice age. This mountain range is also the perfect backdrop for an up-close photo encounter with many animal species that live here. During your private wildlife tour, many different types of animals can be spotted in the winter. And, that’s because we know exactly where to take you to see wildlife! Possibilities include elk, wolves, bison, moose, coyotes, fox, mule deer and whitetail deer, pronghorn antelope, otters, beaver, muskrats, marmots, badgers, eagles, hawks, swans, kestrels, ducks, and herons. In late winter and early spring, we might also see black bears, grizzly bears, owls, pelicans, herons, cranes, geese, and songbirds. Let us know your interests and we will do our best to accommodate you! For example, if you would like to see wolves in the wild, we will customize the trip to include wolf habitat. About your host, Mark
I’m Mark Bolen, Founder and Guide at Teton Wild Custom Wildlife Tours. Let’s go on a wildlife adventure together! When I first started coming to this beautiful valley more than 30 years ago, I was like many visitors that come from all over the world. I was captivated by the beautiful Wyoming scenery and loved being able to see wild animals at every turn. Spending quality time in this unique area over the years changed my life! I went from being a “visitor,” to living in magnificent Jackson Hole year round. Here’s a bit more about my story… I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. And, yes. I most certainly do have a southern accent! As a young man, I graduated from the University of Georgia and went right to work in financial services and sales. I lived in Atlanta and was excited to work in corporate America. However, there was always another thought on my mind: living in Jackson Hole. Could I really make that happen? As time passed, Jackson Hole began to work its magic on me. I would fly back to Jackson every few years, and each time I was in awe of what new things I had learned about this amazing valley. After each visit, my desire to live here became stronger and stronger. In 2012, I finally admitted to myself (and my family, friends and colleagues) that I had fallen in love with Jackson Hole, Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. That was it! I packed my things and moved here. I was officially done with city life and 60 hour work weeks. As a guide in this wild and spectacular space, I’ve spent much of my time learning the mysteries of this area. I am always excited to go out and explore with clients… because it’s not just about mountains and wild animals. It’s about being in an extraordinary place where you can almost see time unfold. From the days when glaciers completely covered the land, to the origin of the Grand Tetons about 9 million years ago, to the story of how wolves saved the aspens — if you book a tour with me, then you too will know the many secrets of “The Hole!” I started Teton Wild Custom Wildlife Tours so I could spend the day with you. Learn what makes this valley so special and let’s go on a wildlife adventure together! You’ll be glad you did. Also, be sure to have a look at our testimonials page and see for yourself what people are saying about their own wildlife adventures with me… Then you can click below to start your own adventure! I look forward to meeting you and your group in Wyoming!
